The extended grace period of the Student Financing Fund (FIES) is within your reach, providing financial relief while you dedicate yourself to your specialization.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What is the FIES Extended Grace Period? <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The extended grace period is a benefit that allows you to temporarily suspend the repayment installments of your FIES contract. During the period of your medical residency, you won&#8217;t have to worry about paying the installments, ensuring financial peace of mind to focus on your studies and your career. If you meet the following criteria, the extended grace period is for you:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>You are enrolled in a medical residency program recognized by the CNRM.<\/li>\n<li>His medical specialty is considered a priority by the Unified Health System (SUS).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>How does it work?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Doctors who are enrolled in a medical residency program accredited by the National Medical Residency Commission and in a medical specialty defined by the SUS as a priority, are entitled to an extended grace period from FIES to suspend the contract&#8217;s repayment installments while they are attending residency. The extended grace period does not affect the total term of the loan. The suspension period is added to the end of the contract and allows you to dedicate yourself fully to your specialization and build a solid foundation for your medical career.
